Customize Main Menu Buttons
In Point of Success Office Manager under the Tools center, choose Customize the Main Menu Buttons. The main screen in Point of Success can be changed and rearranged to accommodate business functions. The main screen is customizable in the following ways:
1. Change the location of a button
2. Change the caption (words) of a button
3. Make the button invisible (remove the button from the main screen)
The main screen of Point of Success Order Entry looks like this by default:
Each button on the main screen can be changed. Locations, captions, and actions are associated with each position on the Main Screen grid. The corresponding button information in each cell represents the information contained and the action of each button. For example, the top right button information cell describes the appearance and action of the top right button on the Main Screen.
Each cell can be turned on or off using the 'Visible' property. If the cell is not visible, the other cells in the row will automatically adjust their size to fit the grid.
To restore the grid back to its original state, press the 'Restore Defaults' button. All the buttons and actions will be reset to their factory defaults.
Action: The actions of these buttons are limited to New Order, Phone Order, Driver Dispatch, View Tickets, Last Order:, Gift Card, No Sale, Manager, Log Out, Time Clock, Tables, Exit, and None. Any button can perform any of these actions if set to do so.
Caption: The default captions match the names of the 'Action' items. However, button captions may be changed to whatever is desired. Captions are limited to 27 characters and will word-wrap.
Visible: This check box turns the button on and off. If left unchecked, the button will not be displayed regardless of caption or action.
Sample Main Order Window: The Sample Main Order Window is a facsimile of the real order screen. It changes whenever any button in the Button Layout is changed to show the result of the change.
NOTE: The Manager button and the Exit button are particularly important for the proper function of the Point of Success Order Entry program. If these buttons are omitted, some functionality will be inaccessible. Removal of these buttons is not recommended.
If the user decides that the 'New Order' button should be named 'Take an order', the button caption could be changed to using the Main Screen Designer. Edit the button by clicking the button location, in this case the top left cell, and changing the properties associated with that button. Note that when the changes are made in the Main Screen Designer, a preview of the changes to the Main Screen Menu display to the right. These changes will be effective the next time the main screen is open.
