Product Categories are how the data in Point of Success is divided. These Product Categories become critical in CentralPoint HQ because all the transactions and financial data are grouped into these categories. Each order in Point of Success is assigned to a category. Products have these categories to group them together into similarly related elements. This information is only useful if the level of granularity is achieved when setting up product categories. The more general the categories, the more general the information will be for reporting purposes. The more specific the categories, the better and clearer the performance can be measured.
Product Categories should be, to the extent possible, the same or similar between Store locations. The comparison of performance data across Stores is accomplished when these categories are alike.
